Privacy Policy for Floor Is Lava

Last updated: June 17, 2026

This page is hosted on Famions.com for the community-made game Floor Is Lava. The privacy policy below applies to the game and its publisher, Aperiobyte, not to the entire Famions website.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aperiobyte ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you play the mobile game Floor Is Lava (the "Game", package / bundle identifier com.floorislava.game) on Android and iOS. Please read it carefully. By using the Game, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

Summary

  • The Game creates an anonymous account for you automatically on first launch so your progress can be saved to the cloud and synced across devices. You can play without signing in.
  • Your game progress (score, currency, upgrades, daily streak, stats) is stored both on your device and in our cloud save.
  • You can optionally sign in with Google to back up and restore your account on another device. If you do, we receive your Google email address, name, and profile photo.
  • We offer online leaderboards; your chosen display name, avatar, and best scores are visible to other players.
  • We show ads through Google AdMob, which collects device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads.
  • We offer in-app purchases, processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store and our purchase provider, RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment details.
  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, in-app or by web request.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money.

Information We Collect

Account and cloud data

To save and sync your progress, the Game creates an anonymous account the first time you launch it. This account is identified by a randomly generated identifier and a device identifier. It is created automatically and does not require any personal information from you.

We store the following in the cloud, linked to your account, through our backend provider Supabase:

  • Your game progress and stats: high score, highest wave, in-game currency ("embers") balance and transaction history, unlocked upgrades and characters, daily login streak, and related settings.
  • Your public profile: the display name and avatar you choose. Your display name, avatar, and best scores are visible to other players on leaderboards.
  • A device identifier associated with your most recent save.

A copy of your progress is also kept locally on your device so the Game remains fully playable offline; local and cloud data are reconciled when you are online.

Google Sign-In (optional)

You may choose to sign in with Google to link your account so you can restore it on another device. When you do, we receive your Google email address, name, and profile photo from Google to identify and link your account. Signing in is optional; if you do not sign in, we do not collect this information. Linking or unlinking Google does not change anything in your Google account itself.

Advertising data

To display ads, our advertising partner, Google AdMob, may collect and process device advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate IP-derived location, device information, and ad interaction and performance data. This data is collected directly by the ad provider through its SDK.

In-app purchase data

When you make a purchase, the transaction is processed by the app store's billing system, Google Play Billing on Android or the Apple App Store on iOS, and purchases are validated and managed through our purchase provider RevenueCat. The store collects and processes your payment information. We do not receive or store your credit card number or full payment details. We and RevenueCat receive a confirmation of the transaction, such as a product identifier, purchase token, and a pseudonymous app-user identifier, so we can deliver what you bought, credit your account, and prevent fraud.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and operate your account and save or restore your game progress across devices
  • Operate online leaderboards and show rankings
  • Link or restore your account when you sign in with Google
  • Display and measure advertising
  • Process and deliver in-app purchases and credit your in-game currency
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, cheating, and technical issues

Third-Party Services

The Game relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

We encourage you to review these policies to understand how each provider handles your data.

How Ads Work and Your Choices

The Game uses Google AdMob to display ads, which may be personalized based on data such as your advertising identifier and app activity, or non-personalized. You can control ad tracking:

  • Android: Settings, Privacy or Google, Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization.
  • iOS: On first relevant use, the Game presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; the Game uses your advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized ads only if you grant permission. You can change this at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking, and manage Apple's own ad personalization in Settings, Privacy & Security, Apple Advertising.

Where required by law, for example in the European Economic Area and the UK, or by platform rules, such as Apple's App Tracking Transparency, we will request your consent for personalized advertising before such ads are shown, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

In-App Purchases

In-app purchases are optional. All payments are handled by the platform store, subject to that store's terms and privacy policy. Refunds are handled according to the store's policies. We do not have access to your full payment instrument details. Note that in-game currency ("embers") is a consumable and is non-refundable; it is permanently forfeited if you delete your account.

Leaderboards

Participation in leaderboards happens through normal play. Your chosen display name, avatar, and best scores may be visible to other players. Do not include personal or sensitive information in any display name you choose.

Network Access and Permissions

The Game uses Internet access to create and sync your account, save progress, operate leaderboards, load ads, and process purchases. Core gameplay can be played offline; features that require connectivity, such as cloud save, leaderboards, ads, purchases, and account deletion, will be unavailable without a connection.

Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the Game displays advertising and offers in-app purchases, it is intended for a general audience of users who meet the minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Privacy Rights (EEA / UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Our legal bases for processing are your consent for personalized ads and optional Google Sign-In, the performance of a contract to operate your account, save your progress, and deliver purchases, and our legitimate interests to operate and secure the Game. You can delete your account and associated data as described under Data Retention and Deletion. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of advertising identifiers for personalized advertising may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" under California law. You can opt out using the device-level ad controls described under How Ads Work and Your Choices, request deletion as described under Data Retention and Deletion, or contact us.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Account and cloud data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
    • In the app: open Profile, then Delete my account. This permanently and immediately deletes your account, cloud save, currency balance and history, profile, and leaderboard entries.
    • By web request: if you no longer have the app installed, visit our Account Deletion page or email us at the address below, and we will delete your account and associated data.
  • Deletion of your account does not remove records that payment processors are independently required or permitted to keep: RevenueCat and the app stores, Google Play and the Apple App Store, retain their own purchase records under their respective policies. Purchased in-game currency is non-refundable and is forfeited on deletion.
  • On-device data remains on your device until you clear the Game's storage in your device settings, delete your account, or uninstall the Game.
  • Advertising data is retained by the ad provider according to its own retention policies.

Data Security

We and our service providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption of data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

Our third-party providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are indicated by updating the "Last updated" date above and publishing the revised policy at the same location. Continued use of the Game after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
